Today we went to the cardiologist for Nolan’s first follow up appointment. It was not the news we wanted but he is still early in recovery.
Nolan’s heart function is not where they want it to be. This could be one of many things but we are praying his heart his still adjusting to the new set up.
We follow up in 2 weeks for another echocardiogram to see if the function has increased. If not they will start him on medication to increase it.
If this happens this is medication he could be on for life. This was hard to hear.
The Dr did say Nolan looks great all things considered. He said the odds are on his side for the function increasing based on how he looks, his energy, work of breathing, blood pressure, etc.
A normal heart “squeeze” is around 50 and Nolans is around 35.
We have seen God answer so many prayers already, but we will need to be praying big prayers his heart function can increase.
